Schools Closure List |
ORGANISATION Children are grouped in mixed ability classes. Currently there are two classes in each year group. In Foundation Stage children work towards the Early Learning Goals through a variety of experiences working individually and in small groups as appropriate. In Key Stage 1 children may be taught in ability groups in Literacy and Numeracy according to their individual needs. A variety of teaching and learning methods are used in both the core and foundation subjects. Topics are planned to show development and progression throughout Key Stage 1 of the National Curriculum and the Foundation Stage. Much of the children's work is based on first-hand experiences. This enables them to relate their work to real life situations. Teachers are encouraged to arrange visiting speakers and outside visits to enable us to provide aspects of education beyond the school site.
