Oracy

At Carrington Infant School, we aim for all learners to become confident and capable speaker and listeners during their time at our school. We believe that although children will learn some skills through daily experience, it is important for speaking and listening skills to be taught and it not just be assumed that children will develop these skills by exposure to them.

As the children move through the school they will have developed skills in Oracy to support them to achieve in life and to make a difference to their success in life. Children will have developed skills to be capable and confident speakers and listeners.

From September 2024 we will be part of VOICE 21, the UK Oracy Education charity. This is an exciting step on our Oracy journey and we are delighted to be part of the programme.
