PE and School Sport Funding

The planned use of the PE and school sport funding at Carrington Infant School will be extremely effective in improving and sustaining high quality PE and sports provision.

We will receive £8620 government funding this year to increase PE and sport opportunities in our school.

The Youth Sport Trust has a self audit tool to allow schools to assess their current PE provision and identify areas for future development. We will do this audit on an annual basis to track our progress.

Our main aims for 2016/2017

  • To continue to increase children’s health and well being, particularly those pupils who are physically less active.

  • To continue to develop Forest School.

  • To increase participation with other schools for sports’ competitions/festivals.

  • To improve teaching.

  • More opportunities for the most able pupils.

Change 4 Life Club

Change 4 Life is a national initiative aimed at getting both children and adults to:

Eat well. Move more. Live longer.

We are encouraging everyone to register for this free resource.

https://registration.change4life.co.uk/

Would you or your family like to be healthier and happier? Would you like loads of ideas, recipes and games to help you do this? Then you already know why you should join Change4Life.

Joining is a brilliant first step to get the most out of Change4Life. Our quick assessment will help you discover the right places for you to start making a change.

In the Spring Term we will be introducing ‘Change 4 Life’ clubs to increase children’s physical activity and wellbeing, whereby a group of children lead a club.

This is a great opportunity for children to:

  • Participate in a new type of sports club that is all about moving and having fun rather than competing against others.

  • Lead and take ownership of a club – they create the activities themselves.

  • Increase their self-confidence and self-esteem.

  • Most important of all – have fun!
