  • Poetry Challenge

    Published 05/05/26

Oh my word! On Friday 1 May we held our first Oliver James Lomax Performance Poetry showcase. 21 children from across the school took part in the Gold Level challenge where they performed a poem of their choice (some even wrote their own). The Gold Level Challenge meant performing in front of the school and their parents, demonstrating pace, projection and performance. Poet Oliver James Lomax, who visited us back in March, kindly said we could award the winning performer with a certificate from him - thank you so much. So, BELLA was the overall winner for her performance of 'As I was going to St Ives'.

The children who chose Bronze Level Challenge performed a poem to an adult in school of their choice and the children who chose the Silver Level Challenge performed their poem in front of their class and parents. It has been such a brilliant week and an event that we will do year after year across the Federation.
