Keep up to date with all the latest news happening in school at the moment.
We have linked with Wild Mind Well-Being in Flackwell Heath. Every child in school will experience animal therapy by spending time at the farm. This week we started the wonderful link with Willow Class and 6 children from Amethyst Class.
For Halloween we played hide & seek with some pumpkins and had to work out the special message written on them :)
Forest School club made pumpkin soup today! How delicious!
We took part in International Food Day on Monday. We focused on 'Journeys' and how the food we eat gets from 'plant to plate'. Reception looked at the journey of apples, Year 1 focused on bananas and Year 2, pineapples. We have had some wonderful feedback and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.
You may have noticed a new, blue cupboard just by the main front door. This is our lovely new Carrington Infant School Little Library!
It is a ‘lend and leave’ library meaning you can take any book you wish to read and then bring a different book back that you think someone else would like.
It would be fantastic to make this a truly sparkling library, but I need YOU to make it happen.
I will keep the library stocked with books from charity shops, book fairs etc but it would be amazing if you could join in and ‘lend and leave’. This is NOT a library for brand new books, but a library for loved and read books that are in a good condition and you are happy to give away.
I will be talking to the children in assembly about Carrington Infant School Little Library, so please join in this conversation at home.
Best wishes
Mrs Cliffe
Monty, our school dog, has been trained by The Dog Mentor to work in school with our children. We are so excited to have Monty and know how loved he is going to be by everyone.
Today we went to Christ Church for our harvest service. We then delivered 'boxes of kindness' in the community.
This week the school council had their first meeting with Carrington Bear. They spoke about what they would like to focus on this term and came up with two fantastic ideas. Firstly, they want to look at how we can improve our recycling efforts in Carrington Infant School, so on Monday 16th October a representative from the Wycombe Recycling Centre will be coming in and talking to our council members. Next, they have come up with a fantastic 'Acts of Kindness' initiative that we will share more about next week.
It was wonderful to welcome back pupils in Year 1 and Year 2 on Tuesday 5th September.
Our reception pupils started today! Photos to follow.
We had great fun today at the Leavers' Assembly this morning, hardly leaving a dry eye in the house, and at the family picnic and colour run this afternoon, getting rather dirty!
