Our overall intention is:

Music is a unique and powerful form of communication. It impacts the way our children here at Carrington Infant School feel, think and act. Allowing opportunities for the children to be creative, express themselves musically and perform together is an essential part of our nurturing ethos. From Early Years through to Year 2, listening and appraising different genres of music promotes children’s language development and appreciation of music from various cultures. We follow the 'Charanga' scheme, however our Carrington music curriculum goes well beyond this. Throughout the year a variety of music experiences are provided for our children, which include; Harvest festival, Easter service, instrumental workshops, choir, Rock Steady club, recorder club and so much more.
