Message from the Governors

At Carrington Infant School, governors, staff, parents and children work together in a happy, creative and nurturing environment; with our core values of kindness, respect and honesty in everything that we do.

The governing board is involved with our school at every level. This includes finance, safeguarding, premises management and staff appointments.

As Governors, we consider our most important role to be the safety, welfare and education of our pupils.

At Carrington Infant School, we have high standards for our children across the curriculum. We are very proud of them and would like to thank the parents/carers who encourage and support their children so admirably. In a good school, such as ours, staff, parents and governors take a great interest in the children’s learning and development. During the early years of primary education, academic, personal, social and creative skills are nurtured and developed. Governors are appointed to ensure that objectives are met, and that future planning is both visionary and realistic. We provide strategic direction for the improvement of the school; monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the school; and hold the school to account for the standards achieved and the quality of education. We are here to support and encourage our Head Teacher, Senior Leadership Team and all school personnel to ensure that every one of our children has access to an enriched education and to all the opportunities that they deserve.

Governors come from all walks of life. People from the local community, education, business professionals and parents all sit on the current board. We meet 6 times a year  as a full governing board. We visit the school as often as possible, with each governor taking responsibility for a strategic area. We are a passionate board that truly cares about Carrington Infant School, and thus helps us be as impactful as possible.
