Our overall intention at Carrington Infant School is:
•For children to be excited about learning about the past and appreciate that history, recent and distant, is part of all our stories.
•Our aim is for children to experience a variety of historical teaching, where we encourage independent learning and a confidence to ask questions.
•They will be given the opportunity to explore artefacts and historical resources to further their sense of chronology and understanding of how things are changed by people over time. We will study significant people and where possible show how individuals can change something for the better by having a ‘can do’ attitude, despite setbacks.
•Children will present their ideas and learning in a range of ways that link to other areas of the curriculum.
